COVID-19: CANCELLATION POLICY & SAFETY MEASURES

COVID-19 Safety Measures

In response to the dynamic coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, Swiss Yoga Retreats is taking heightened measures to ensure your health and safety, and we remain fully committed to providing you with clean, safe environments. We provide a safety concept («Schutzkonzept» – as required by the government) for all our retreats and regularly update our guidelines to be in accordance with the COVID regulations.

We will provide you with your retreat’s detailed safety concept 14 days before the start of your retreat.

Hygiene standards at retreat locations: Each of our retreat locations has a safety concept (in accordance with Swiss regulations) that covers their cleaning, hygiene and disinfection processes, how they manage public and shared areas, staff training, and the use of face masks. By booking one of our retreats, you commit to following our retreat location’s safety concept.

Yoga classes: Since our retreats take place in the mountains, it will not always be possible to hold outdoor classes. Our yoga classes will be held observing any current distancing rules and according to the safety concepts provided by the Swiss yoga associations. If we need to split classes because of administrative orders, we will let you know about this in advance. We kindly ask you to bring your own yoga mat.

Temporary Changes to our Cancellation Policy

We have temporarily adjusted our cancellation policy: We are reviewing all retreats before your second installment is due (30/60 days before the start of your retreat, depending on the retreat you’ve booked). Should we have to cancel or drastically alter a retreat due to any government restrictions that are in place or foreseeable on that date, you will be given the option of a full refund. Other options may include accommodation only or an altered retreat programme. We will confirm this timeline with you at the time of your booking.

After this date, we commit to refunding any amount beyond the costs that we are bound to by third-party providers (e.g. hotels, guides etc.), should a retreat have to be cancelled at short notice due to an administrative order.

Please note that our normal cancellation policy applies in all other cases.

FAQ

Do I need travel insurance?

Travel insurance is highly recommended for all of our retreats. You should have travel insurance that covers your medical costs and repatriation, and it should include Covid-19 cover. Some insurance companies now offer to cover cancellation costs if you can’t travel due to contracting the virus, or if you have to quarantine/isolate.

I am joining a retreat from abroad. What happens if I can’t travel to Switzerland, or if I have to quarantine upon arrival/return?

We currently advise against booking one of our retreats if you don’t live in Switzerland. If new travel restrictions are put in place and you won’t be able to travel to Switzerland, our normal cancellation policy applies, and we are unable to refund any of your payments.

I have booked a retreat but no longer want to come. Will I get a refund?

We only run a retreat if we are able to do so in accordance with the Swiss government’s COVID restrictions and regulations. If a retreat is going ahead but you decide to cancel, our normal cancellation policy applies.

What happens if the government closes the hotels, or if our hotel is shut down after a COVID-outbreak?

Should a retreat have to be cancelled at short notice because our retreat location has to close according to an administrative order, you will be refunded any amount beyond the costs that we are bound to by third-party providers.
